During school athletics was my passion, in particular sprint hurdles. I competed at a National level where I obtained medals at English Schools and the AAA indoor championships. Due to consistent injuries, I was looking for another sport to try.
In 2009 I was picked up through UK Sports Talent ID Programme Girls 4 Gold. This programme was an extensive female talent recruitment setup to find powerful athletes who wanted to fulfil their Olympic ambition. I was lucky enough to make it through the full process and gained a place on the GB Junior Team.
By 2010 I was competing at a National, European and World level. The Junior Europeans saw me take home two silver medals, and at the Junior World Championships I gained a silver and bronze. I quickly made my way through the ranks, and by 2013 I made my first GB Senior debut at the World Championships in Minsk. It was here myself and Becky James won a bronze medal.
Since 2013 I have continued to compete at a European and World level, picking up some medals along the way. Im training full time and continuing to pursue my dream of representing GB at the Olympic Games.
There is no words to describe what you have achieved. You realise and reflect the importance of small things in life when you don't have them. Lots of people have unfortunate accident or experience and it will be great to share your road to recovery mainly exercises and rehabilitation. You won the greatest medal already by doing what you love cycling again. Best of luck! The great champions are the ones who gets up and start cycling again after the big fall.
